Those of our winning students who were able to make it, attended Kingston University on Saturday to create their very own newspaper.
This event is run annually for each year's winners and it was great to be back, as we haven't been able to run this day for the last 3 years, due to Covid.
The day started at 10.30am, with an introduction to journalism and students were given various news articles to choose from, to add to their paper. Once they had assigned sub-editors for each category and their articles were good to go, they set to work, learning how to use Adobe InDesign to put their paper together.
With a quick lunch break to stop for Domino's pizza, the team worked really hard until the day ended at 4.30pm, where their finished newspaper was complete. It will be published on our website very soon, so keep your eyes peeled.
We want to thank all our Young Reporters who attended, as you demonstrated a great work ethic from start to finish and we hope to see some of your names in print in the future.
Kingston University also deserves a big shout out, for working with us to help this day go ahead. We couldn't do it without you and we're incredibly grateful for your support. A big thank you to Erica Brown and her journalism students Martine Aamodt Hess, Georgia Howell and Georgia McJannett-Smith, who worked with our Young Reporters throughout the day.
